The Family That Eats Together…

We are a family that loves eating together. Doesn’t matter if it’s in a fancy restaurant or home cooked food, as long as there’s food on the table, conversations to share and stories to tell, it’s gonna be an eating marathon of sorts. As usual, for my mom’s birthday, my dad and our ex-helper Ate Oteng weaved their magic in the kitchen to prepare a hefty lunch: my late grandmother’s Kapampangan specialties! Mom made her specialty: carbonara and fruit salad to add to the choices. And, as always, everyone in the family had a field day with surrounding the table and picking on the delightful treats every few minutes or so.

My dad working his magic in the kitchen.
The results: Mom’s Carbonara, Fruit Salad. Dad’s Ginisang Bopis, Beef Pochero and Chicken Labong, and of course a lot of rice. Not in photo: Kare-Kare and “Bagis”

Same fare, different angle.

We love eating then talking then eating while talking!
