… 6 Underground …

It’s a nice place to watch a gig, and a different experience to play in. I can’t help but be awed by playing in a stage where other bands, who are now revered by their followers and listeners, took their baby steps. On the walls behind the stage and the ceiling are the names of the bands who’ve played here, most in big, bold writing, and other messages like ‘Whatever it takes’, which actually moved me. It is the battle cry of most bands right now – to take to the stage, to play their songs, to play in empty places – whatever it takes, bands nowadays take any chance to express their creations and their musicality.

Anyways, playing in a band is quite an experience, but playing with friends in different bands all in one night, straight sets and different listening experiences. It was fun, all that encouragement and helping out one another from hauling the setups to taking photographs…

Lastly, many thanks to Marion and his “Bender Productions” for giving us the chance to play. And for the bands we didn’t get to see, big apologies for going home so early. Thanks to Robin, the Rommels, and the rest of Makinaworks for the photos, the stories and the sharing of musical talent and revelling in our chosen genres of music. And for my friends Pam and Grace for watching our set and waiting up late till it was our turn.

Hopefully, we’ll be able to hit this venue again…
