You told me everything I needed to know.
Yet, I choose to set off on this journey with you. I chose to take my chances, because maybe this was the time for us to make this beautiful leap into flight. Your wings may still be clipped and hurting from our previous falls, but I assure you, I won’t leave you alone. I will fly in front of you, shielding you from the head winds, to aid you in your flight while healing. When we set down to take a drink in the pond, where others are doing the same, I shall only have eyes for you. I will whisper my words of love in your ear to give you strength when pain is gnawing at your heart, and take you under my wing to give you warmth and comfort. I will walk not far from your shadow so you will not feel alone.
I look up at the sky. It is night. Polaris is no more.
No longer prominent nor shining in my sky.
It has led me to you, away from my path laden with tears and fears; discarded thoughts and feelings.
I have found the one, the one whom I will vow myself to.
