At the close of the Beijing Olympics in 2008, the B and I and a friend of ours made soft plans to watch the Olympics in Rio in 2016. We wanted to feel the summer in Brazil – see the sights, maybe watch the big names: Bolt, Phelps, Nadal, and other stars represent their respective home nations.
We didn’t go. The realities of life kind of got in the way – we live in a different side of the world now. The money wouldnt have been a problem but the circumstances were.
Now, the Olympics coming back to Asia is something appealing. The B and I have always wanted to visit Japan. The closing ceremony teaser was so interesting and so true to commonly known Japanese culture, old and new.
When you can get your nation’s Prime Minister to dress up like Mario and seem like M. Bison from afar, then you know all the stops have been pulled out for great sporting show four years from now.
